Not using all caps this time....So, back to the Daily Show. I should read my Bible first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, I tend to forget. Only sometimes, mum. Very rarely, I assure you. However, I never ever forget my morning dose of the Daily Show. By nine o'clock each morning I'm done. Before breakfast, usually before or during my morning shower, and during my morning workout- if I do one. Almost everything I know about the current state of America and American culture, and really almost every country outside Africa (Who am I kidding? More like Ghana) I learn from the Daily Show. I should probably expand my knowledge base, but right now I click on almost every link that pops up on my screen. That's my other way of learning stuff. GO GOOGLE! I attended a webinar that asked attendees to identify conflicting aspects of their personality- I guess this is one: My desire to be focussed and organized is at war with my thirst for knowledge and love of learning everything. Wow, that sounded really cool and smart. I'm impressed with myself! Confession? I heard about the Daily Show during my winter break. Just before the break, my teacher told us we'd be studying "Born a Crime" when we returned. Like the obsessive student I am, I got it and read it during the break-in one sitting and one day. It was just that amazing. And, the most amazing thing is that my analysis work on it landed me my first high grade AND perfect score in English class. You can't blame me for loving it then, can you? We had to link Born a Crime to Trevor's stand-up shows and his work on The Daily Show. And I was hooked. Just like that. You should really check it out if you haven't yet. Since I'm making my wishes here, you know what I think will be really amazing? If there were webinars for high schoolers worldwide where we could hear people like Trevor and Chimamanda explore issues of race and respect and disparities in society. Of course, interview-style webinars with experts and opinion leaders would be awesome. My organization skills are legendary. I'm totally up for working with them to keep it streamlined and informative if anyone is listening. These recent issues with the Black Lives Matter movement have revealed how ignorant I am about things I prided myself on being well-informed about. Who better to teach me than people who have consistently spoken and written intelligently about these issues that fascinate me. I feel that something important, been life-changing eludes me every time I am unable to gain a deeper, more nuanced understanding of such globally impactful social issues. Who's my favorite cast member? Definitely the boss, Trevor if he counts. If he doesn't, I love Desi and Dulce. Go girl power. But everyone's segment is different and I feel like they're perfect for what they do. You're probably like: That's so sweet, I'm craving waffles and ice cream now. Perfect! I love recipes! Share, share, share. And comment! What do you think about the Daily Show? Are you new to it? Or you've been bingeing on it for a long time. I really want to know what you have to say! Your thoughts are important to me.3 comments - IT'S WEIRD TO POST BACK-TO-BACK

Great job. You are an inspiration to those out there who have just entered a new or foreign curriculum. Please share with us your routine. Lessons you've learnt along the way. How you get through the day.
